MISSION STATEMENT
As the sisterhood of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, we strive to achieve lifelong friendship, support, and integrity through fostering and promoting leadership, academics, philanthropics, and social skill development.

Chapter History

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority was founded on February 5th, 1993.

It was founded on the basis that positive Greek life is important and beneficial to good academic, leadership, philanthropic, and social skill development.

On October 21st, 1993, the Gamma Phi Delta Sorority held their first associate member initiation.

The two women whose idea it was to found the Gamma Phi Delta Sorority Stevens Point was Roxanne A. McMahon and Janet M. Wirth.

However, this project would take more work than that of two women, thus there are four founding members: Janet Wirth, Roxann McMahon, Lisa Roth, Carin (Rademaker) Farell

The charter members (Alpha class) are as follows:  Janet Wirth, Carin (Rademaker) Farell, Jill Allen, Jane Niccum, Sherri Wojtaleweicz, Anne Margaret Kocurek, Carri Ann Niedens, Becky Wichman, Pamela (Kirsten) Brown, Jackie Liften,Tammy Nowack.

Our first alumna is Anne Margaret Kocurek.

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority promotes diversity among its members, for this reason, our colors are black and teal. Black stands for diversity, it encompasses every color.  Teal stands for uniqueness and individuality, it is also said to be the one color that matches every person’s coloring.

Our mascot is the Black Panther, the primary reason we chose it is because it is on the endangered species list, which reminds us of our devotion to philanthropies. It also symbolizes our courage, loyalty and our strength as a sisterhood.
We have two symbolic flowers. First, we chose Lily of the Valley, which is a sign of new beginnings. Our second flower is the Yellow Tea Rose, which was chosen for its classic sign of friendship.

A special symbol The Gamma Phi Delta Sorority is the number eight, it is significant in many ways: it is a Never Ending Chain, its symbol is used for the Sign of Infinity (as we will be sisters forever), and it also stands for our eight rights.

Our history is still growing as we are still growing and changing with each new associate class.
